Finding a Connection in a Conversation

One of the joys in life is finding a connection with someone in a conversation. Recently, I caught up with someone in Australia who I have known professionally, met at various conferences around the traps, but never really sat down for an extended one-on-one conversation. Sometimes, you walk away from an encounter like that feeling grateful for the opportunity but that a strong and deep connection has not been made. Other times, you are amazed at the similarities with the hidden side of the person, that which is not opened professionally, and you realise that you have a lot more in common than meets the eye.

In this recent case, it was certainly the latter. That hidden aspect – the world of energy, spirituality and sustainability – is slowly rising to the surface yet it often requires people to build a trusted relationship until they can be surfaced and the inner dimensions come to the fore and we can explore this world together and share experiences. So thank you to that person (who shall remain nameless but you know who you are!) for a wonderful extended conversation and I look forward to the next time when we can take off where we left it last time!!

BTW, my apologies for not posting much lately – I have been back in Australia on leave. I will be posting much more frequently from now on – have I said that before??!
